Experts and industry figures have given testimony to a PACE hearing in London on the risks and opportunities of the Metaverse, including ideas for ensuring that virtual spaces can be kept safe for children, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence.
The hearing, organised by PACE’s Committee on Culture, Science, Education and the Media at the Houses of Parliament in London, heard from a representative of toy manufacturer Lego, as well as from members of Austria’s Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, including its “Global Extended Reality Working Group”.
The hearing will feed into a report being prepared by Andi-Lucian Cristea (Romania, SOC) for debate by the Assembly in due course.
