Today is the last day to submit nominations for the first edition of the 2024 Vigdís Prize, which will be awarded next June.
The Vigdís Prize aims to reward outstanding initiatives promoting women's empowerment in all their diversity, with a broad remit covering achievements in gender equality or equal participation in and access to decision-making, as well as action to encourage inclusive policies and practice. Eligible candidates can be individuals or civil society groups.
The Prize, consisting of a sum of €60,000 is awarded annually by the Parliamentary Assembly, in partnership with the Icelandic Government. It will be presented on 24 June in Strasbourg during the summer part-session of the Parliamentary Assembly.
Nominations should be sent to the Parliamentary Assembly by e-mail to: [email protected], using the form available on the Prize web page. They should be signed by at least five sponsors and submitted in either English or French.
