The Assembly instructs the Committee on Regional Planning and Local Authorities :
1 to follow the concrete applications given to Recommendation 557 (1969) on the use of computers in local government ;
2 to continue its study of certain specific questions raised in its report (Doc. 2562), in particular the implications of data processing for local, regional and national administrative reform ;
3 to request the European Conference of Local Authorities to consider the problems of data processing from the angle of the co-operation among local authorities necessary for the purpose of defending their legitimate interests in the field of data processing vis-a-vis national authorities and sponsor the development of practical co-operation at European level as rapidly as possible ;
4 to report back to the Assembly, in due course, on specific projects in the field of administrative data processing and on new aspects of the problem.
