The Assembly,

1. Referring to its Resolution 765 (1982) and to its Recommendation 936 (1982) to the Committee of Ministers ;

2. Mindful of its responsibility to safeguard the principles of the Statute of the Council of Europe,

3. Instructs its Political and Legal Affairs Committees :

a to continue to follow attentively the situation in Turkey with particular reference to the respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms and to the elaboration of the new Constitution ;

b to report back to the Assembly by autumn 1982 at the latest.
