1. The Assembly, further to its Resolution 1055 (1995), instructs the committees concerned to follow developments in the Russian Federation and to report at the first appropriate opportunity.

2. The Assembly also instructs the Sub-Committee on Human Rights (of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights) to visit Chechnya, once the hostilities have ceased, to verify that human rights are observed.
