1. Referring to its Resolution 1077 (1996) and Recommendation 1288 (1996) on Albanian asylum-seekers from Kosovo, the Assembly instructs its committees concerned to monitor the situation in Kosovo, notably with a view to promoting a mutually acceptable political settlement between the Kosovo Albanians, the authorities of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) and the Republic of Serbia and to report to the Assembly as necessary.
