The Assembly,
1. Recalling its Recommendations 461 (1966), 477 (1967) and 536 (1968), as well as its Order No. 310 (1971), on the strengthening of Europe's technological and scientific potential ;
2. Welcoming the initial practical results already achieved in scientific terms following action by its Committee on Science and Technology ;
3. Considering its Order No. 323 (1972) instructing its Committee on Science and Technology to continue its work for the promotion of European co-operation in specific scientific fields ;
4. Convinced that the setting up of a working party for scientific co-operation, which would take the initiative in convening a European joint committee on scientific co-operation, will help to strengthen scientific co-operation in Europe,
5. Recommends that the Committee of Ministers invite the Committee for Higher Education and Research of the Council of Europe's Council for Cultural Co-operation to send representatives to meetings of the European Joint Committee on Scientific Co-operation convened on the initiative of the Consultative Assembly Committee on Science and Technology.
