The Assembly,

1. Recalling its constant concern for the preservation and rehabilitation of Europe's architectural heritage, as shown by its debates and recommendations in past years ;

2. Welcoming the decisions of the Committee of Ministers :

a to set up an Intergovernmental Committee on Monuments and Sites ; and

b to declare 1975 as "European Architectural Heritage Year" ;

3. Having regard to its resolution inviting Europa Nostra to submit every two years a comprehensive report on the conservation of Europe's architectural heritage,

4. Recommends that the Committee of Ministers invite the governments of member States :

a to set up high-level national committees to organise the three-year campaign for the European Architectural Heritage Year, beginning in 1973, and to provide the funds required ;

b to take the administrative and financial action required to implement the European programme of "model schemes" drawn up by the Intergovernmental Committee on Monuments and Sites (Activity No. 3122/03 in the Intergovernmental Work Programme of the Council of Europe) ;

c to furnish to Europa Nostra all available information required for the report on architectural conservation asked for by the Assembly, and to provide the funds needed for its production and distribution.
