The Assembly,

1. Referring to its Resolution 624 on the democratic renewal of the performing arts, and to the principles it contains ;

2. Recognising that the performing arts should be considered in the context of the general socio-cultural development of democratic society,

3. Recommends that the Committee of Ministers :

a give consideration to these principles in the light of the reaction of the Ministers of Culture meeting in Oslo on 15-17 June 1976 ;

b investigate, in collaboration with EEC, Unesco and the Nordic Council, the social status of performing artists in Europe and the means of assuring them normal conditions of employment.
