The Assembly,

Recalling its Order No. 194 of 28th September 1961 and its preliminary report (Doc. 1433), examined on 17th May 1962, on social action by young people on behalf of newly-developing countries ;

Recalling its Recommendation 345 on the employment of volunteers in technical co-operation ;

Recalling its Order No. 218 of 27th June 1963 and its Resolution 256 of 19th September 1963 on the 1st Session of the Seminar on International Voluntary Service ;

Having noted the reports adopted at the 2nd Session of the Seminar held in Strasbourg from 26th to 30th October 1964 ;

Welcoming the success of the 2nd Session of the Seminar, which brought out certain technical lessons and provided fruitful exchanges between key persons in organisations having varied experiences ;

Having learned of the creation, following the Seminar, of a Regional Conference on International Voluntary Service ;

Having taken note of the Statute of that Conference and the Resolution adopted by its Committee on 30th October 1964,

1. Decides to transmit to the Committee of Ministers the reports adopted at the 2nd Session of the Seminar ;
2. Decides to extend to the Regional Conference on International Voluntary Service the same support as it extended to the Seminar and instructs the Secretary-General to take all appropriate action to this effect ;
3. Decides to be represented on the Committee of the Regional Conference by one of its members who shall be appointed by the Social Committee.
