The Assembly,

1. Recalling its Resolution 568 (1974) and Recommendation 732 (1974) on the 5th Seminar on International Voluntary Service ;
2. Considering that the previous Seminars on International Voluntary Service have enabled voluntary as well as governmental organisations concerned with development co-operation to discuss freely questions of common concern and to prepare the ground for measures designed to make their work more effective ;
3. Considering that non-governmental organisations continue to play a major role in the second Development Decade ;
4. Considering that development, to be effective, must be broadly planned and co-ordinated over many fields, which makes increased international co-operation necessary ;
5. Welcoming the decision of ihe Committee of Ministers, in accordance with Recommendation 732 (1974) on the 5th Seminar on International Voluntary Service, to authorise the Secretary General to provide administrative assistance and material facilities required for the organisation of a 6th Seminar on International Voluntary Service,
6. Resolves to hold in Strasbourg from 8-12 November 1976 a 6th Seminar on International Voluntary Service, on the theme : "The role of voluntary service in development co-operation - Towards a fairer sharing of world resources" ;
7. Requests its President to invite the appropriate organisations to take part in this seminar ;
8. Invites the Secretary General to make all necessary arrangements for the seminar, in co-operation with the competent international organisations.
