In the draft resolution, after paragraph 8, insert the following paragraph:

"The Assembly acknowledges the Algerian security forces counter-terrorist activities and the continuing threat posed by al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Magrheb (AQIM) and associated groups. European governments should continue to assist the Algerian authorities in countering terrorist threats in the region."
