1 Introduction

1. Paragraph 14.6. of the draft resolution relates to the treatment of third country nationals in the context of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. As the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) recently adopted a statement on the same topic, the message contained in the draft resolution will only be reinforced with a reference to the work of a Council of Europe body.

2 Proposed amendment to the draft resolution

Amendment A

In paragraph 14.6., after the first sentence, insert the following sentence:

“It strongly encourages member States to take due account of the statement on the consequences of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine adopted by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) at its 88th plenary meeting (29 March – 1 April 2022) and [hopes]”.
