This written declaration does not reflect the position of the Assembly; only of those members that have signed it. It will not be considered further by the Assembly.
We, the undersigned, declare the following:
Are appalled over the catastrophic humanitarian consequences
of the ongoing war in Gaza, which has resulted in the death of thousands
of civilians and the destruction of entire communities.
Reaffirm that a State's right to self-defence must be exercised
strictly within the limits of proportionality, humanity, and international
law.
Emphasise that criticism of policies of the Israeli government
does not equate to antisemitism, and recall that many within Israel
and the global Jewish community, including hostage families and
former leaders, have condemned the current conduct of the war.
Warn that the continued devastation of Gaza and the prospect
of full reoccupation threaten regional security.
Call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and unimpeded
humanitarian access to Gaza, under the supervision of the relevant
United Nations agencies and for the immediate release of all hostages.
Urge all parties to commit to accountability, justice, and
meaningful efforts toward a sustainable peace.
Call upon the international community to uphold international
humanitarian law and protect civilian lives on all sides of the
conflict.
