The Parliamentary Assembly has decided to restructure and streamline its Rules of Procedure, which have become increasingly lengthy and cumbersome since the last comprehensive review in 1999. The aim is to make the Rules more user-friendly without making any significant changes to them. The revised structure will divide the Rules of Procedure into four sections: Fundamental Principles of the Assembly, Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, Rules of Procedure of the Committees and Code of Conduct for Members. In addition, the Assembly plans to reorganise and simplify its supplementary texts to ensure their consistency. The restructured Rules of Procedure will come into force at the opening of the January 2027 part-session.
