1. Meeting in accordance with the provisions of Rule 6 of the Rules of Procedure, the Committee appointed for the examination of credentials examined those of the Representatives and Substitutes to the Eighth Ordinary Session of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe.
2. The credentials, certified by the Ministers for Foreign Affairs and transmitted to the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, called for no comment.
3. In view of the fact that the Federal Republic of Austria has acceded to the Statute, thus becoming a Member of the Council of Europe, and has been allocated six seats in the Assembly, the total number of seats in the Assembly is now raised to 138.
4. No objection having been raised, the Committee unanimously proposes that the Assembly confirms the validity of the appointment of the following Representatives and Substitutes :
