Strasbourg, 22.12.2011 - Addresses by British Prime Minister David Cameron, Finnish President Tarja Halonen and Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze will be among highlights of PACE’s winter session (23-27 January 2012). There has also been a request for an urgent debate on “The Russian Federation between two elections”.
Other highlights include debates on guaranteeing the authority and effectiveness of the European Convention on Human Rights, and on protecting human rights and dignity by taking into account the previously expressed wishes of patients.
Reports on the situations in Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Ukraine are also foreseen.
