1. The Committee of Ministers has examined Recommendation 1845 (2008) on “The situation of national minorities in Vojvodina
and of the Romanian ethnic minority in Serbia” and having done so,
decided to delay issuing a reply until it had taken a position on
the implementation by Serbia of the Framework Convention for the
Protection of National Minorities, which is the legal framework
in which the Committee pronounces on matters concerning national
minorities. In April 2011, the Ministers’ Deputies adopted Resolution
CM/ResCMN(2011)7 on the implementation of the Framework Convention
for the Protection of National Minorities by Serbia.
2. In response to the Parliamentary Assembly’s invitation to
the Committee of Ministers to take account of the recommendations
set out in Resolution
1632 (2008), the Committee observes that it has made a specific mention
of this text in Resolution CM/ResCMN(2011)7 referred to above and
that furthermore the recommendations contained in that resolution
essentially cover those contained in Resolution 1632 (2008).
