1. Referring to the report on the repercussions of supersonic civilian flights on the human and natural environment (Doc. 3071) ;
2. Considering that supersonic flights have, for more than a decade, been causing serious damage to, and occasionally the total destruction of, historical and artistic monuments which have hitherto escaped the ravages of time, and recognising that this represents a real threat to the cultural heritage of Europe, which must be averted, whether these supersonic flights be of military or civilian origin,
3. Instructs the Committee on Culture and Education to examine, if need be with the assistance of experts, the repercussions of supersonic flights on historical and artistic monuments.
