Instructs its Committee on Science and Technology, in preparing for the debate of the Assembly in January 1982 on science policy and the findings of the 5th Conference :
4.1 to maintain close contact with the international bodies represented at the conference in Helsinki - in particular with the Commission of the European Communities, the European Science Foundation, and the Committee for Scientific and Technology Policy of OECD - with a view to seeing to what extent their programmes of activity can contribute towards the implementation of the conclusions and recommendations to be drawn ;
4.2 to prepare, on the basis of the proceedings of the 5th Conference, any appropriate proposals for the agenda of the European Conference of Ministers for Science Policy, Research and the Universities, which the Government of Austria proposes to convene ;
4.3 to invite the European Joint Committee for Scientific Co-operation to draw up concrete proposals for the setting-up of a network of contacts between national parliaments and European parliamentary assemblies, in order to strengthen their combined scientific and technological information and assessment capabilities ;
4.4 to take appropriate steps to ensure continuity of reflection and follow-up action on the themes and findings of the 5th Conference and the preparation of the 6th.
