1. The Assembly refers to its Recommendation 1150 (1991) on the situation of the Iraqi Kurdish population and other persecuted minorities.

2. The extent of the refugees' and displaced Iraqi population's basic needs calls for humanitarian aid which will have to be continued in the near future.

3. The Assembly accordingly instructs its Committee on Migration, Refugees and Demography, if necessary in co-operation with other committees concerned, to follow closely developments in the refugees' situation, by a visit to the region if required, and to report back to it in due course.
