Assembly debate on 27th January 1965 (21st Sitting) (see Doc. 1858, report of the Committee on Non-Represented Nations). Text adopted by the Assembly on 28th January 1965 (22nd Sitting), as amended.
The Assembly,
1. Noting the wish to achieve industrial expansion which has characterised the Rumanian economy during recent years;
2. Noting the tendencies towards an individual economic policy in Rumania;
3. Considering that the Rumanian Government is seeking to increase Rumanian trade with the countries of Western Europe,
4. Recommends the Committee of Ministers to encourage member Governments to expand commercial and cultural relations with Rumania, as well as with the other countries of Central and Eastern Europe under communist rule, initiating them in such a way that increasing contacts between these countries and the countries of the Western world will bring political, social and economic benefits to their peoples.
