The Assembly,

1. Having considered with great interest the third report on the results and prospects of cooperation between the Council of Europe and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), submitted by that Institute (Doc. 3145) ;

2. Considering that the work for the unification of private law undertaken in the context of UNIDROIT is of very great value ;

3. Expressing the wish that the Council of Europe and UNIDROIT may continue to work in close cooperation,

4. Recommends that the Committee of Ministers call on member States of the Council of Europe who are not yet, or are no longer, members of UNIDROIT to accede to it ;

5. Recalls and renews its Recommendation 622 (1971) which urges member States of the Council of Europe to ratify the Hague Conventions on the international sale of goods.
