The Assembly,
Having regard to Resolution 212 concerning methods of improving the recruitment of blood donors in certain areas of the member countries ;
Having regard to Resolution 26 (1962) of the European Conference of Local Authorities concerning this question ;
Pursuant to the second sub-paragraph of Article 1 (b) of the Charter of the Conference of Local Authorities,
Expresses satisfaction at the reception given by the 4th Session of the Conference to the Assembly's appeal to the municipal and regional authorities in the member countries, and the various bodies representing them at national or European level, to launch a propaganda campaign to promote the collection of blood ;
Especially welcomes the terms of the Resolution and the directives given to the regional and local authorities concerned ;
Expresses the wish that the Standing Committee of the Conference may take urgent steps to implement the proposed arrangements and to carry out these directives.
