The Assembly,

1. Considering that the attention of national parliaments should be drawn to the definite solution of the problem of completely integrating refugees in the Council of Europe member states which receive them ;

2. Believing that the acquisition of the nationality of the country of residence in accordance with the principles stated in Recommendation 564 would enable refugees and their children to achieve final integration in the community ;

3. Considering that national parliaments might persuade the governments of member states to adopt a liberal practice regarding the conditions prescribed for the acquisition of the nationality of the country of residence,

4. Invites its members to urge their governments or parliaments to make it easier for refugees to acquire the nationality of the country of residence.
