1. The Assembly, further to its Resolution 1183 (1999), instructs its Political Affairs Committee to hold a parliamentary meeting with delegations of the Knesset and the Palestinian Legislative Council in Strasbourg in autumn 1999.

2. The Assembly also instructs its Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights to prepare a report on practical assistance to the Palestinian National Authority with a view to strengthening democratic institutions, implementing the rule of law and ensuring the respect of human rights.
