In the draft resolution, paragraph 9.2.6, replace the words "penalise wasteful and polluting energy users" with the following words:

"phase out wasteful and polluting energy consumption".

Explanatory note

The amendment speaks for itself. We should aim at phasing out wasteful and polluting energy consumption. Countries should be encouraged to develop strategies and timeframes for implementing national-level policies in this regard.
