According to Moldovan media, as well as to reports of many civic activists and NGOs, there are at least four political prisoners in the Republic of Moldova at the moment. Two anti-fascists, Pavel Grigorciuc and Mihail Amerberg, as well as two other oppositional activists, Nicolae Tipovici and Cornel Moraru, have been held in custody for three months now.
Mr Hunko,
To ask the Committee of Ministers,
Can the Committee of Ministers confirm this and does it find such persecution on politically motivated charges and such behaviour by the Moldovan authorities compliant with the principle of rule of law and consequently with the Republic of Moldova’s commitments to the Council of Europe?
