The Assembly,
Considering that the question included in the Agenda of the Assembly on 30th September, 1952, worded :
" Enquiry into the national or international bodies connected with local Government whose European character suggests that they might be suitably enrolled, in conditions to be specified, in a campaign to arouse ever wider support among the general public for the European idea "
would, as now worded, restrict the Special Committee on Municipal and Regional Affairs to the mere compilation of a list of local government associations;
Considering that it expects this Committee to submit not only such a list but also suggestions as to the manner in which such associations, as well as the local authorities themselves, might, in the words of the present text, " be suitably enrolled in a campaign to arouse ever wider support among the general public for the European idea ",
Resolves to replace the previous item by the following :
" Enquiry into the national or international bodies connected with local Government and examination of the best means whereby these bodies and the local authorities themselves may help in the propagation of the European idea. "
