1. In accordance with the provisions of Rule 6 of the Rules of Procedure, the Committee responsible for the examination of credentialsNote examined those of the new Representatives and Substitutes appointed to the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe as a result of general elections or resignations.
2. Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands and Turkey have transmitted new credentials certified by their Ministers for Foreign Affairs.
3. (a) Iceland, which had only two Substitutes during the first part-Session, has now appointed another, bringing the total number to three.
(b) Ireland, which had three Representatives during the first part-Session, has now appointed four Representatives and four Substitutes which constitutes its full quota.
(c) In respect of the Netherlands, M. Janssen has been appointed Substitute to replace M. Blaisse, who has resigned.
(d) Turkey, which only had six Representatives during the first part-Session, has now filled the ten seats to which she is entitled and has also appointed five Substitutes.
4. The 5 seats left vacant during the first part-Session having been filled, the Assembly now has its full statutory complement of 132 seats.
5. No objection having been raised, the Committee unanimously proposes that the Assembly confirm the validity of the appointment of the following Representatives and Substitutes :
