This Resolution was adopted by the Assembly at its 10th Sitting, on 20th April, 1956 (sec Doc. 499. draft Resolution of the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges and Explanatory Memorandum by Mr. Oakshott, Rapporteur).

The Assembly,

Believing it desirable to enable a larger number of member countries to be represented in the Bureau,

Resolves to amend paragraph 1 of Rule 8 of its Rules of Procedure as follows :

"The Bureau of the Assembly shall consist of the President and of seven Vice-Presidents."
