1. Having regard to its Recommendation 1449 (2000), the Parliamentary Assembly has decided to step up its efforts to safeguard the fundamental and social rights of clandestine migrants and instructs its relevant committees to organise an interparliamentary colloquy on the subject with the participation of parliamentarians and representatives of governments and civil society on both shores of the Mediterranean as well as international organisations.

2. The Assembly instructs its Political Affairs Committee to develop relations with the Moroccan Parliament in order to initiate the process of associating parliamentarians of the countries on the southern shores of the Mediterranean more closely with its work.
