Commercial relations between member States of the Council of Europe and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe

The Assembly :

Notes the report submitted by the Committee on Non-Represented Nations concerning commercial relations between member States of the Council of Europe and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (Doc. 1676); and

Refers the report to the Economic Committee instructing it to report hack to the Assembly on commercial relations between member States of the Council of Europe and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and instructs the Committee on Non-Represented Nations to report on the general conditions in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Permanent Working Party on Parliamentary and Public Relations

Ratification of Council of Europe Conventions

The Assembly,

Having considered the report of its Legal Committee on the ratification of Council of Europe Conventions (Doc. 1709),

Instructs its Permanent Working Party on Parliamentary and Public Relations to examine that report and to take any action within its power to stimulate the deposit of additional ratifications of Council of Europe Conventions by member Governments, in particular with regard to the European Convention on Establishment.

Committee on Local Authorities

European intermunicipal co-operation

The Assembly instructs the Committee on Local Authorities to consider the expediency and. if appropriate, suitable forms of co-operation, agreements or technical arrangements (intermunicipal trade unions, private law agreements, coordinating organisations, etc.) between municipalities of different member States of the Council of Europe, in particular between neighbouring municipalities on their frontiers.
