Creation of regional and transfrontier natural parks

The Assembly,

1. Having considered the report of the Committee on Regional Planning and Local Authorities on the creation of regional and transfrontier parks,

2. Instructs its Committee on Regional Planning and Local Authorities:

to follow the action taken by other Council of Europe bodies on the suggestions contained in Recommendation 587(1970);

to consider more particularly a model statute for regional and transfrontier parks in the context of European regional planning;

to submit further proposals in due course.

3. Instructs its Commitee on Regional Planning and Local Authorities to make a closer examination of the advanced technical solutions that are now being applied by some European municipalities and to report back.
