The Assembly,

1. Noting the United Nations General Assembly decision at its 31st Session to "convene the United Nations Conference on Science and Technology for Development during 1979" (General Assembly Resolution 31/184) ;

2. Taking into account paragraph 13 of General Assembly Resolution 31/184, in which the Secretary General of the conference is requested to seek the co-operation of intergovernmental organisations which might contribute to the conference, and the letter to this effect from the Secretary General of the conference to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (Doc. 4020, Appendix III) ;

3. Having examined the report on the United Nations Conference on Science and Technology for Development of its Committee on Science and Technology (Doc. 4020),

4. Instructs its Committee on Science and Technology to continue its work in this field, and to report back to one of the forthcoming part-sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly.
