The Assembly,
1. Referring to its Resolution 693, on "direct elections to the European Parliament and the role of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe" ;
2. Noting, in particular, the suggestion in the resolution that priorities should be established in the choice of subjects dealt with by the Assembly, that Assembly committees should harmonise their work programmes and should examine the extent to which the Assembly might drop some activities,
3. Instructs its Bureau to examine the Assembly's work programme in the light of these suggestions, and to bring forward concrete proposals to the Assembly.
