The Assembly,
1. Referring to the report on nuclear accidents presented by its Social and Health Affairs Committee (Doc. 5764);
2. Considering that it may be useful to pay special attention to certain legal aspects of nuclear accidents such as the compensation of victims, insurance obligations, the competent jurisdiction and the applicable law, as well as to existing international treaties and national legislation,
3. Instructs its Legal Affairs Committee to study the legal aspects of nuclear accidents and of other accidents causing damage to mankind and to the environment, and to report to it if necessary.
