The Assembly,

Congratulating the Committee of Ministers on the creation of the Council for Cultural Co-operation (CCC);

Taking note, with satisfaction, of the new programme for 1963 ;

Considering that European cultural co-operation, particularly in the educational field, is of paramount importance for the future of the peoples of Europe and Europe's place in the world of tomorrow ;

Welcoming the decision of the Committee of Ministers to place increased funds at the disposal of the CCC,

Recommends that the Committee of Ministers should :

1 bear in mind that the expanded program me of the CCC requires adequate increasing financial support for the Cultural Fund;

2 requests Governments:

a to consider, in appropriate cases, the payment of voluntary contributions to the Cultural Fund;

b to finance unilaterally, or by means of donations, projects of the CCC programme which are of special interest to their country;

3 place adequate staff at the disposal of the Directorate of Educational, Cultural and Scientific Affairs, taking into account the estimates submitted by the CCC.
