The Assembly,

Having learnt that medical fellowships are awarded each year by a Council of Europe Selection Committee;

Having learnt that each year, under the Council of Europe Co-ordinated Medical Fellowships Programme, three specialists of different nationalities make a study of some medical question of interest to all member countries of the Council of Europe;

Realising that, by arousing the interest of parliaments and public opinion in the activities of the Committee of Ministers in the field of medical studies, it would give a new impulse to these activities,

Recommends that the Committee of Ministers :

1 invite the Consultative Assembly to nominate one of its members to attend the meetings of the Medical Fellowships Selection Committee;

2 give the Consultative Assembly the opportunity, as from 1964, to make specific proposals through the representative so nominated regarding the choice of subjects for co-ordinated medical fellowships.
