The Assembly,

1. Referring to its Resolution 332 (1967);
2. Observing that there has been a substantial increase in the responsibilities of the Council of Europe as a result of current developments in the European situation;
3. Considering that, without overlooking the essential role of the United Nations Agencies in this field, a particular effort should be made to promote activities within the framework of the Council of Europe that will make it possible for European non-member countries to take part in technical conferences ;
4. Considering that, for the achievement of its statutory aims, the Council of Europe is called upon to make known its declared policies and activities to the peoples of Europe,
5. Considering that, for the achievement of its statutory aims, the Council of Europe is called upon to make known its declared policies and activities to the peoples of Europe,
5.1 to take all necessary steps to promote activities that will enable European non-member countries to take part in technical conferences;
5.2 to make all necessary arrangements to give practical effect to these activities or conferences with a view to constructive and lasting co-operation between all the countries concerned;
5.3 to request the Secretary General to increase his efforts to publicise the activities undertaken in the Council of Europe;
5.4 to raise the information budget accordingly.
