Condemning the aggression committed by North Korea and supporting the action of the United Nations in defending international law

Origin

Adopted 11th August 1950 on the conclusion of the Debate on the Report and Message from the Committee of Ministers to the Assembly, at the conclusion of the debate on the second Report of the Committee on General Affairs, the Assembly also adopted unanimously on 23th August 1950 a declaration, the text of which was transmitted to the Committee of Ministers by a letter of 31st August 1950.

The Assembly,

In response to the Committee of Ministers' request for the Assembly's views on the events in Korea,

Strongly condemns the unprovoked aggression committed by North Korea ;

Fully supports the action of the United Nations in defending international law, in repelling armed attack and in restoring peace and security ; and

Joins with the United Nations in appreciation of the soldiers of the United Nations and in particular the American troops, who, in the most difficult circumstances, are carrying on a heroic struggle for the liberty of all peoples.
