1 Decisions of
the Bureau of 26 January 2018 requiring ratification by the Assembly
1.1 References and
transmissions to committees
1.1.1 Reference to
a committee
The Bureau considered and approved the following reference:
- Doc. 14458, motion for a resolution, Towards
a system of monitoring and regulation to counter misinformation
in and manipulation by social media: reference to the
Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media for report.
1.1.2 Modifications
of references
The Bureau considered and approved the following modifications
of references:
- Doc. 13812, motion for a resolution, Libya's
future between the threats of terrorism and a democratic prospect (Reference
No. 4140 of 26 June 2015 – validity: 31 January 2018 (reference
to the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy for report):
reference to the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy for report and to the Committee
on Migration, Refugees and Displaced persons for
opinion;
- Doc. 14380, motion for a resolution, Defining
guidelines for international NGOs (Reference No. 4331
of 13 October 2017 – validity: 13 October 2019 (reference to the

1.2 Composition of
the Monitoring Committee, of the Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities
and Institutional Affairs and the Committee on the election of judges
to the European Court of Human Rights
1.2.1 Composition of
the Monitoring Committee
On the basis of a proposal by the EPP/CD Group, the Bureau
appointed Mr Peter Beyer (Germany), Ms Sanja Putica (Croatia), Mr
Xavier García Albiol (Spain) and Ms Nicole Duranton (France).
1.2.2 Composition of
the Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional
Affairs
On the basis of proposals by the SOC Group, the Bureau appointed
Ms Marianne Mikko (Estonia).
On the basis of proposals by the ALDE Group, the Bureau appointed
Mr Michael Link (Germany).
On the basis of proposals by the EPP/CD Group, the Bureau
appointed Mr Matern von Marschall (Germany) and Mr Miltiadis Varvitsiotis
(Greece).
1.2.3 Composition of
the Committee on the election of judges to the European Court of
Human Rights
On the basis of proposals by the SOC Group, the Bureau appointed
Mr Martin Whitfield (United Kingdom) as alternate.
The Assembly is invited to ratify
these Bureau decisions.
