The Committee of Ministers informs the Honourable Parliamentarian that at its 1355th meeting (DH) on 23-25 September 2019, it did indeed decide to transfer the case in question to the enhanced supervision procedure and adopted a set of decisions regarding the steps to be taken in execution of this judgment (see CM/Del/Dec(2019)1355/H46-30). Having examined the response to date of the authorities of the respondent State, the Committee considered that further intensified efforts are required to tackle the serious problem highlighted by the Court and identified a series of issues that should be addressed in this context. It stressed the importance of rapid and decisive progress in the execution process, and requested the respondent State to provide further information on the steps taken within a time-limit of four months. The Committee’s enhanced supervision of this file will continue in 2020.
