It has nothing to do with what is being requested here, which is to reduce the sentences, but simply to say that the justice system would not be playing its constitutional role. Along the same lines – because it is one thing to debate the crime of rebellion or sedition and it's another to say people have been condemned for crimes that they didn't commit. That is not the case. People were convicted not for the actions themselves but for making use of funds that they were responsible for, for these illicit ends.
