27/03/2026 Monitoring
Ionuț-Marian Stroe (Romania, EPP/CD) and Paweł Jabłoński (Poland, ECPA), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will make a fact-finding visit to Albania from 30 March to 1 April, in the context of the post-monitoring dialogue with this country.
During their visit in Tirana, they will discuss recent political developments and assess the progress made by Albania in implementing the recommendations of the Assembly as set out in Resolution 2544 (2024).
They are due to meet the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, of Justice and of the Interior, as well as the Minister of State for Anti-Corruption and Public Administration.
Meetings are also scheduled with various parliamentary committees, the parliamentary ad hoc Committee on Electoral Reform, the Albanian delegation to PACE, leaders of parliamentary groups, as well as with representatives of the judicial authorities, the Ombudspersons Office, the international community, civil society and the media.
The Parliamentary Assembly decided to close the full monitoring procedure in respect of Albania in April 2024 and engage in a post-monitoring dialogue with the country, a less intensive procedure involving a limited number of remaining issues to be addressed.
