PACE co-rapporteurs to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina

Strasbourg, 25.08.2008 – Mevlüt Çavusoglu (Turkey, EDG) and Kimmo Sasi (Finland, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Bosnia and Herzegovina, will make a fact-finding visit to Sarajevo from 27 to 29 August to take stock of the situation with a view to a forthcoming report on the honouring of the obligations and commitments of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the Council of Europe.
 
Talks are scheduled, particularly with the President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Haris Silajdžic, the Prime Minister, Nikola Špiric, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Trisic-Babic, the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, Safet Halilovic, the Minister of Civil Affairs, Sredoje Novic and the President of the Central Electoral Commission, Suad Arnautovic.
 
They will also speak with members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina delegation to the PACE, and with representatives of civil society, the international community (OSCE, European Commission, UNHCR, World Bank, IMF) and the diplomatic corps.
