Strasbourg, 27.05.2011 - Jean-Charles Gardetto (Monaco, EPP/CD) and Serhiy Holovaty (Ukraine, ALDE), Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of Montenegro, will be visiting Podgorica on 1st and 2nd June, where they are scheduled to meet the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Interior, Justice, Human Minorities and Rights, and the Montenegrin parliamentary delegation to PACE.
The topics to be discussed will include the institutional and legislative reform process, reform of the judicial system, the fight against corruption and organised crime, the situation of minorities, displaced persons and refugees, implementation of the anti-discrimination legislation, freedom of expression and local self government.
Talks are also scheduled with representatives of political parties, the judicial authorities, the Roma and Bosniak communities, and religious leaders. The co-rapporteurs will also be meeting representatives of international organisations, the diplomatic community, NGOs and the media.
