18/07/2011 Monitoring
Strasbourg, 18.07.2011 – John Prescott (United Kingdom, SOC) and Axel Fischer (Germany, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of Armenia by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will make a fact-finding visit to the country from 19 to 21 July.
In Yerevan they are due to discuss the latest developments regarding the normalisation of the political environment, as well as the reform programme started by the authorities, in particular election reform ahead of the 2012 parliamentary elections.
They are due to meet the Speaker of Parliament, the President, representatives of the different political factions, the extra-parliamentary opposition and members of the diplomatic community.
