<p>Strasbourg, 31.05.2013 – In the context of current economic and financial crisis, the Council of Europe budget for 2014 and 2015 will show zero nominal growth, for the first time in the Organisation’s history, stressed the Assembly in an opinion adopted today by its Standing Committee in Yerevan, on the basis of a report by Rudy Salles (France, EPP/CD).</p> <p>However, the parliamentarians believe that the Council of Europe should not be weakened by a punishing budgetary policy which might lead it to make choices harmful to its medium- and long-term statutory functions.</p> <p> </p>
