Marietta de Pourbaix-Lundin (Sweden, EPP/CD), co-rapporteur for the monitoring of Ukraine by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will hold a series of high-level meetings during a fact-finding visit to Kyiv and Odessa from 8 to 11 July.
In Kyiv, she is due to meet the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister as well as the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, the heads of different political parties, the President’s Representative tasked with resolving the situation in the east of Ukraine, and former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma. Meetings are also foreseen with leading members of the business community and civil society.
In Odessa, she is due to meet the Governor, the Mayor and political factions in the Council, as well as local NGOs.
PACE debated the situation in Ukraine at its plenary session last week, and also heard an address from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, making his first official foreign visit.
